Elaine Huffman
Elaine Huffman grew up in Sudbury Massachusetts and earned a BFA from the University of Massachusetts. Elaine’s professional career took her away from the arts and into the corporate insurance world. After many years of corporate work she returned to the arts. A lifelong sewer, she started her custom machine quilting service in 1997 where she specializes in artistic free-form quilting.
Elaine has published two machine quilting books and numerous purse and tote bag sewing patterns. These are sold under the Pleasant Valley Quilting name and can be found at www.elainehuffman.com. . Elaine had her national show teaching debut at Machine Quilters Expo in 2006. Elaine is known for her lively, entertaining, and information packed classes!
Elaine’s newest passion is Zentangle ® - a method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. Elaine enjoys creating and teaching Zentangle on paper, in fabric, jewelry, and paper crafts.
In the studio Elaine can be found designing and making beautiful contemporary purses and tote bags, contemporary quilts and art quilt pieces. She’s also creating Zentangle pen and ink pieces, Zentangle inspired jewelry, and Zentangle inspired art quilts. .
Elaine’s work has been published in Professional Quilter, Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler, Quilt, McCalls Quilting, McCalls Quick Quilts. Elaine’s quilting has been shown widely at quilt shows, she placed Third at Vermont Quilt Festival and has exhibited with Lori Stubbs at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. Elaine is a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) and a Toastmaster’s Competent Communicator (CC).
